日本東京藝術大學特映片單【STOP MOTION-國際停格動畫展】為本館於105年籌劃的年度特展，也是首度以單一動畫類型，深入探討之主題展。
「停格動畫」有別於手繪平面動畫及 3D 電腦動畫，這項動畫製作的技術是由動畫師透過調整實體物件或角色偶的細微動作，再使用相機逐格拍攝，將拍攝下來的連續圖像加以串連，以每秒24至30格圖像的速度播放，形成動態的連續影像。
本展從停格動畫的發展歷史、媒材以及製作技術，探究動畫歷史發展中最悠久的創作方式，更首度接軌國際知名StopTrik停格動畫影展，精選歷年18部參展影片，與臺灣近年優秀停格動畫作品，帶領觀眾走入停格動畫所創造出的奇幻世界。
此外，除耳熟能詳的動畫影片外，在3D電腦動畫技術尚未普及之前，停格技術被廣泛地應用在電影視覺特效的製作上，並拍攝出許多膾炙人口的科幻電影。本展將為觀眾解密，了解電影如何運用停格技術創造出銀幕上一個又一個不可思議的科幻場景。此外，為彰顯停格動畫本身蘊含濃厚的實驗性格，及豐富多元的藝術型態，本次特別邀請9位跨領域創作者，運用各自擅長的媒材，以經典特效電影為發想進行再創作，帶領觀眾走進特效電影的奇幻世界，探索停格動畫看似真實卻又無限想像的迷人魅力。
【STOP MOTION – International Stop Motion Animation Exhibition】is the feature exhibition of Fuzhong 15 Animation and Story Gallery in 2016. This is the first comprehensive exhibition featuring stop-motion animation that is ever being presented in Taiwan.
「The Technique of stop-motion」is different from that of 3D computer animation and hand-drawn graphics. Animators photograph every single movement of object in great detail, and join all the images to create the illusion of movements in a speed of 24-30 per second.
This exhibition explores the development of the animation, through the presentation of its history, materials, and technique. For the first time, we showcase 18 film entries of the renowned StopTrik International Film Festival. Various high-quality films, produced by local animators, can also be seen in our exhibition.
Prior to the age of 3D technology, stop-motion technique was widely used to create visual effects of various sci-fi films, many of which are now classics. The exhibition will show the audience how these fantastical scenes were made with the technique. We invite 9 artists, through the recreation of the sceneries of several sci-fi classics, to demonstrate the diversity and experimental character of stop-motion animation.

以府中15新北市動畫故事館及新北市的建築物模型，搭建一座看似真實卻充滿奇幻的城市場景，您可以走進場景之中，運用停格技術拍攝一部屬於自己的奇幻電影。
Experience Area
In the Experience Area on the fifth floor, we invite our guests to make a sci-fi film of their own by using stop-motion technique in the little buildings modeled after the Fuzhong 15 Animation and Story Gallery and New Taipei City Hall.
